A Craft-A-Day...

During summer, we're just about on a craft-a-day plan, or at the very least we get involved in some messy project ending in irreparably staining Anna's shirt! We've managed to skip stomping up and down the driveway in washable paint so far this summer. One of many such projects was making and playing with colorful ice "blocks" (see the photos in ths post.) We've also played with this weird Play-Doh modeling material and made various paintings, pictures, and cards. Anna has been getting a kick of out doing "worksheets," which I think make her feel like she is a big kid in school. Here she is camped out doing some under the dining room table. Our best craft so far will have to be viewed later--they're in the kids' rooms and they are sleeping, so I can't take pictures. We took some plain Matchbox-sized cards and used some tacky glue to make fancy art cars (thank you, Family Fun magazine.) Craig's...of course...were baseball themed! He glued sand on the roof for the pitcher's mound and some grass on the back for the outfield. The kid is obsessed! You should have seen how excited he was to stay up for part of the All-Star game. I had to promise I'd leave a note on his door with the score before I went to bed that night, so he could see it first thing in the morning!
