At dinner Anna told Pete, "We hafta go to a lot of houses so we can get a lot of candy, OK, Dad?" She had it all worked out! When they were out trick-or-treating, I guess a lot of people thought she was a dalmation (and the costume is pretty close to the one she wore when she was just a few months old) and they kept telling her what a cute dalmation she was. So she turned to Pete and said, "Dad, how come people keep messing up my costume?" She chose a green sucker to eat before bed--and strangely enough, we have a photo of Craig eating a green sucker on Halloween when he was 2. Craig chose bubblegum because he thinks he's hot stuff now that he's old enough that we'll let him chew gum. After all his practicing of pirate-speak, "Argh, trick or treat, me hearties," Pete said Craig just said regular old "trick-or-treat," when it came right down to it.
